Air management systems

MAHLE is a competent development partner and systems supplier with a high degree of process competence for the entire air section: from the air intake through the filtration to the intake module which distributes the air into the combustion chambers. MAHLE intake modules condition the combustion air and optionally create resonance charging or variable runner length charging for improving the torque and power. The combustion air processing generally involves filtering, heating, separating oil and other particles from the crankcases as well as admixing exhaust gases (EGR). Besides processing the air, our air filter systems assume additional tasks such as flow management, design and acoustics. In this way, our scope of supply encompasses both components and complete systems. In addition to products which are integrated directly in the air supply of the engine, we also develop cylinder head and engine covers, cabin air filters, sound generators, systems for crankcase ventilation, actuators, and other mechatronic components.
