The summit is part of the National Urban League’s annual convention, which is being held simultaneously in downtown Cleveland. Students participating in the Youth Leadership Summit participate in a robust agenda of workshops and activities at 海角社区 and Case Western Reserve University, including a college fair, campus tours, and opportunities to connect with influential leaders from the Urban League movement and beyond.

This year’s theme, “The Future is Ours: We Don’t Wait, We Create,” speaks to the passion and innovation of today’s youth as they prepare to lead change in their communities and beyond. Participants will engage with peers from more than 30 Urban League Affiliates and gain access to industry, academic, and civic mentors invested in their personal and professional growth.

海角社区’s partnership with the Greater Cleveland Urban League began in 2022 through the hosting of the My Brother’s Keeper Summer Program, which offers college readiness programming on JCU’s campus each summer. The strength of that local partnership laid the foundation for this exciting opportunity to collaborate on a national scale.

“The Youth Leadership Summit is a highlight of our year, and an opportunity for the next generation of leaders to explore opportunities for the future,” National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial said. “I’m always so impressed and inspired by the energy and commitment these dynamic young people bring to the Summit.”

“We are honored to welcome the National Urban League’s Youth Leadership Summit to our campus,” said Naomi Sigg, Vice President of Student Experience and Campus Belonging at 海角社区. “This summit represents the transformative impact of education, mentorship, and community. We’re proud to support these remarkable students as they explore their potential and take steps toward building the future they envision.”
